Making the EU Taxonomy a more effective tool for low-carbon investments – Joint statement

Liquid Gas Europe along with other leading associations, published a joint statement highlighting the necessity for a simplified EU Taxonomy framework.  The current design of the EU Taxonomy framework poses significant challenges to our industry, and fails to recognise our industry's efforts in advancing the energy transition.

We eagerly anticipate discussions with the European Commission to drive positive change towards a revised framework that favours low-carbon investments, establishes harmonised reporting, and avoids diverging interpretations. The existing rules underestimate industry investments, exclude key spending areas, and lack clarity on implementation. Simplifying eligibility criteria, providing guidance, and ensuring transparent governance will make the EU Taxonomy a more effective tool.
